A Continuous Performance Test measures different variables of attention and sustained attention, including average reaction time, levels of errors of omissions and errors of commissions, which reflect inattention, and impulsivity. The CPT is included in the Computerized Cognitive Testing Battery. However, in can be tested with additional testing instruments like T.O.V.A. or Conner's CPT.
Inattention, impulsivity and slow reaction time usually reflect the presence of a brain dysfunction and contribute to the diagnosis of ADD.
